RME is looking pretty damn good right now as a company that wants my business going forward more than Focusrite does. To find a driver for this device, click Update Driver. Unfortunately Focusrite don't seem to offer 'demo' modes and a blank screen with 'no hardware detected' is all I get if I try to run Focusrite Control (or FWIW Mix.

There are no compatible drivers for this device. My old Saffire Pro24 uses Mix Control, IIRC I remember reading somewhere that the current Scarlett app is different from MC but, as you say, should offer the same feature set. Is anyone else having this issue, or have any other workarounds? When opening device manager, it appears under OTHER DEVICES category as SCARLETT SOLO USB, and when double clicking to show its properties, it says 'The drivers for this device are not installed. Either way, it takes a full system reboot now to come back.

They are available online as a MSI install file extracts a bunch of files to a directory. Step 4, I then installed the legacy firewire drivers. Sometimes the audio works all day, sometimes I'll leave and come back a couple hours later and the audio stopped working. Step 3, I installed the latest Saffire Mixcontrol (Version 3.7). The audio ONLY comes back after a re-boot.įrom what I've been reading, Apple caches the /Library/Extensions in a new location, and it takes a re-boot for it to be re-cached and loaded. My DAW acknowledges the Pro 40s existence, and allows me to use it as my audio device (using ASIO drivers), however I am not able to send a signal through. Every time I would set the sample rate for a device and hit 'Apply', the Saffire would go out of sync. That said, I did have a bit of an issue trying to set matching sample rates for both devices originally, though. The Saffire MixControl is giving me the 'no hardware connected' message. After doing that and re-enabling the mic in Windows, I had no issues with the Saffire while accessing the camera mic.

The sync LED on the unit stays lit but the audio doesn't come back by switching the sample rate or sync source in Mix Control like another thread mentions as a "fix", nor does it come back by turning the unit of and on again as mentioned in another thread. So, brand new Saffire Pro40.and at the moment am not feeling very encouraged about my purchase. My Saffire Pro 24 DSP is still working under 11.4 with Mix Control 3.9, but only until something changes. Like many users who either upgraded OS or bought a new mac, and now found Focusrite have left Saffire users out to dry, I am pretty upset after installing Big Sur and finding out Focusrite is just stepping back and going "Oh well, you shouldn't have upgraded!"
